This just says "they do the mezze riprese and the volta". Note that the number of mezze riprese are unspecified. If we choose a default of 2, the steps look remarkably like a Volta di Lasso. Nevertheless, we don't make it an actual Volta di Lasso because (a) It doesn't say so, (b) leaving it as two measures increases the parallelism with the next 2 measures, and (c) if this is two measures, the whole dance breaks up nicely into 4-measure segments, making music much more practical. |
