Four people dance - two men and two ladies,
and each man has by the hand
his lady on the right hand.
e tutti aquatro si piglino p(er) la mano
ecosi p(re)si p(er) mano
aco(n)cinsi i(n) fila
And all four take hands,
and thus holding hands,
they arrange themselves in a file.
et faccino i(n)sieme tutto q(ue)llo
ch(e) i(n) q(uest)o ballo far decio
And together they do everything
that [I say] to do in this dance.
Eprima faccino una reuerenza e le co(n)tinenze
dipoi dua scempi
And first they do a reverenza
and the continenze,
then two sempi.
e que [sic] dua ch(e) si ritrouano nel mezzo
faccino la uolta
et quei dua da lato
faccino in quel medesimo tempo
4 passetti e passino i(n)a(n)zi
e uoltinsi aquei ch(e) erano nel mezzo et eglino aloro
And those two who are in the middle
do the volta,
and in that same tempo,
those two on the sides do
4 passetti,
and they pass in front and turn
to those who were in the middle, and they to them.
dipoi faccino dua sce(m)pi
i(n)controsi lun alaltro
et p(er)ch(e) si uengano arisco(n)trare
Then they do two sempi
opposite one another,
and such that they come
to meet one another.
i(n) quello i(n)co(n)trarsi
si d(e)bbano toccar la mano
et ciaschuno alla sua do(n)na et elleno aloro
In this meeting,
they must touch hands,
and each to his lady, and they to them.
et co(n) 4 passetti tutti si passino e uoltinsi
i(m)modo ch(e) si uengano aesser lontani
que [sic] 4 passetti ch(e) fatto hanno
And with 4 passetti,
all pass one another, and turn
in such a way that they come to be distant
by those 4 passetti that they have done.

Then opposite one another
they do two sempi and the volta.
fannosi dipoi una reuerenzetta i(n)anzi et una adreto
et la uolta di lasso
Then they do a reverenzetta forwards
and one to the rear,
and the volta di Lasso.
faccino dipoi le riprese
e una riuerenzetta i(n)anzi et una adreto
Then they do the riprese
and one riverenzetta forwards and one backwards.
et quegli ch(e) nel mezzo si ritrouano faccino 4 passetti
i(n)contro alor co(m)pagni et loro i(n) q(uest)o medesimo
tempo faccino la uolta edoue erano di fuori d(e)bbano
tornare nel mezzo
And those who end up in the middle do
4 passetti opposite their
companions, and in the same tempo,
they do the volta, and where they
were on the outside, they must return to the middle.
piglinsi dipoi tutti p(er) mano
et i(n)sieme faccino
le mezze riprese e la uolta
Then all take hands, and together
they do the mezze riprese
and the volta.
e cosi si lascera(n)no le mani
e faccino poi [sic!] una reuerenza
And thus they let go of hands,
and then they do a reverenza.
Dipoi d(e)bbano tutti i(n)sieme
far la treccia et i(n)comincino cosi,
Then all together must do
the treccia, and they begin thus:
quei d(e)l mezzo ch(e) sara(n)no una do(n)na et un' huomo
si uoltino cosi p(er) i(n)lato
et aico(m)pagni dien loro la man' ritta
che sono da lato et eglino aloro
Those in the middle, who will be a lady and a man,
turn thus to the sides,
and they give their right hands
to their companions on the sides, and they to them.
et cosi faccino la detta treccia
laquale e di 8 trapassini
et nel fine d(e)lla detta treccia
tutti d(e)bbano schambiar luogo cioe
que [sic] che di drentro [sic]
si ritrouauano tornino di fuori
eque [sic] di fuori tornino di dentro
And thus they do the said treccia,
which is of 8 trapassini,
and at the end of the said treccia,
all must change places, that is,
those who ended up on the inside return outside,
and those on the outside return inside.
